A Portion of Proceeds are Donated to WOUNDED WARRIOR, 1st RESPONDERS, and the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. Because carpet is made from extruded fibers that can vary slightly in denier, tufted at high speed where stitch rate and pile height have tolerances, and finally backed with latex/adhesive and cured (losing moisture and changing density), minor differences in weight and color tone are inherent. Carpet naturally reduces in weight as it further dries/cools over time; shearing/calendering, heat setting, and roll tension can also cause small shifts in face weight and density. Please allow up to ±12% variation in listed weight (oz/yd²) and ±1–2% (or up to ±0.25") in finished cut size due to these manufacturing and machining processes. Pile height is cut to the specified gauge at the shearing station, but fibers naturally compress as the carpet is wound into heavy master rolls, then slit, tightly shrink-wrapped, and stored in this state often 6–9 months before reaching the end user. This prolonged, industry-standard packing compresses all pile types; light grooming and normal use typically allow fibers to relax toward their intended height.
